Julian Buschberger

Julian Buschberger (born October 20, 1993 in Linz , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian musician and songwriter who is primarily active as a guitarist in the styles of rock , blues , funk and soul .

Buschberger grew up in Sankt Martin im Mühlkreis in Upper Austria and began playing the piano at the age of 5 and switched to the electric guitar at the age of 11 , which he said he did through a live video from the hard rock band AC / DC and the appearance was inspired by lead guitarist Angus Young .

From 2008 he attended the popular music branch in the BORG Linz . During this time he gained band experience and was hired as a guitarist by the Landestheater Linz for two musical productions. After graduating from high school in 2012, he relocated to Vienna , where he has been working as a freelance artist ever since.

In the summer of 2014 there was an encounter with Nigel Kennedy in Straubing , who was visiting the club where Buschberger was performing. Kennedy hired him shortly thereafter as guitarist for his Hendrix Project , which started a tour through Europe at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London . From 2016 on, Buschberger also played in Kennedy's Vivaldi and Bach projects. Tours led to Australia with performances a. a. at the Sydney Opera House and at the opening of the Australian Open final in Melbourne . In 2017 Buschberger played in a Kennedy concert in London's Royal Albert Hall with u. a. Robert Plant and Jean-Luc Ponty . During this gig he played the Led Zeppelin classic Kashmir with Plant and Kennedy , which Plant had never sung without Jimmy Pages before.

In 2018 Buschberger also performed as a guitarist and bassist with the Austrian electro swing pioneer Parov Stelar u. a. in India, Singapore and Spain. He also played concerts as a guitarist with the solo project of LaBrassBanda front man Stefan Dettl .

In addition to his activities as a sideman, Buschberger has been pursuing his own project since 2019, which celebrated its live debut in October 2019. His works are influenced u. a. by guitarists like Jimi Hendrix and Jeff Beck, and by songwriters like Noel Gallagher , Bob Dylan and Dave Grohl .
