Florence Brenzikofer (born April 15, 1975 in Binningen ; resident in Frenkendorf ) is a Swiss politician ( Greens ).

Life

Florence Brenzikofer grew up in Seltisberg , Lupsingen and Liestal in the canton of Basel-Landschaft and in Nantes in France , her mother's home country. She completed her training as a secondary teacher at the philosophical and historical faculty of the University of Bern . She lived with her family for two and a half years in the Bolivian Andes , where she worked in teacher training. Florence Brenzikofer works as a secondary school teacher at the Burg secondary school in Liestal. She is married, has three children and lives in Oltingen .

politics

Florence Brenzikofer was a member of the district administrator of the Canton of Basel-Landschaft from 2003 to 2005 . After her return from Bolivia, she was able to move up to the district administrator for the resigned Sarah Martin in 2013 . She was Vice President of the Audit Commission for three years and then a member of the Education, Culture and Sports Commission for four years. Since 2019 she has been a member of the Finance Commission, which she chairs as President.

After Maya Graf was elected to the Council of States in November 2019, Florence Brenzikofer was able to move up to the National Council .

Florence Brenzikofer is Vice President of Green Switzerland and a board member of Green Basel-Landschaft. From 2012 to 2017 she was President of the Green Basel-Landschaft. Brenzikofer is a board member of the Baselbieter Heimatschutz , the Theaterfestival Basel and the Nie Wieder Atomkraftwerke NWA association . She is also a delegate of the teachers' association Baselland LVB .
