Julian Schmitz-Avila

Julian Schmitz-Avila (born September 3, 1986 in Bonn ) is a German art and antiques dealer .

Life

Julian Schmitz-Avila is the son of Thomas Schmitz-Avila (art dealer in Bad Breisig since 1979 ) and Regine Schmitz-Avila (art dealer in Wiesbaden since 2003 ). After his school and military service, Schmitz-Avila did an apprenticeship as a retailer with his father and specialized in baroque furniture. He ran the branch of the art trade Dr. Schmitz-Avila in Bamberg from May 2012 until the end of the shop in 2017. In July 2018, Schmitz-Avila and his brother Lennart Neumann opened an antique shop in Bad Breisig.

Julian Schmitz-Avila achieved broader awareness through his appearances as an art and antiques dealer in the ZDF television series Bares for Rares , of which he has been a member of the dealer team since the sixth season 2015/16. In this capacity, he was a guest on the talk show Markus Lanz in February 2019 .
