Juliane Hielscher

Juliane Hielscher (born May 9, 1963 in Hamburg ) is a German journalist , television presenter and book author .

Life

After graduating from high school , Hielscher studied philosophy and German literature in Hamburg and Buenos Aires ( Argentina ) . Since 1988 she has worked as a journalist for various media, including as editor and presenter for the news and the breakfast television of Sat.1.

In 1996, she was together with Andrea Beckmann's host of the ARD - talk show Juliane & Andrea . From 1998 to 2007 she was the anchor presenter of the ZDF morning magazine . Since then she has been working as a freelance journalist for ZDF. As a lecturer for communication and television journalism, she teaches at AMD-Berlin and medienakademie Berlin. Juliane Hielscher is a certified media trainer and a member of the Federal Association for Media Training in Germany

In 2005 she published her debut novel Vom Leben und Die Pinguinfische , for which she received the Debut Prize of the Buddenbrookhaus ( Lübeck ). The jury's justification stated that "Juliane Hielscher had provided convincing evidence that classic narrative structures could also present current topics for the reader in a gripping way." At the 2006 DeLiA award, the novel took second place. In June 2006, her second work, Promise, or Sessil's Secret Story , was published. As a non-fiction author, she also works for Kürschner's political contacts . She has been chairwoman of the Berlin Press Club since April 2018 .

Juliane Hielscher lives in Berlin and has a son.
