Julie Gayet (born June 3, 1972 in Suresnes ) is a French actress and film producer.
Life
The daughter of a surgeon and an antique dealer received singing lessons from the age of eight and acting lessons from the age of 14. In London she studied art history and acting at the Actors Studio . Since 1993 she has appeared in more than 100 feature and short films as well as in television series.
From 2003 to 2006 Gayet was married to the Argentine director Santiago Amigorena; the marriage resulted in two sons living with the father. Gayet founded the film production company 'Rouge International' in 2007 and two others named 'Amarante International' and 'Cinémaphore' in April and July 2012 respectively. As a producer, she has been involved in nearly two dozen productions.
Julie Gayet was said to have had an affair with the then French President François Hollande since March 2013 . In the same month, she filed a complaint against unknown persons about these allegations. In January 2014, Closer magazine published paparazzi photos documenting the affair. In November 2014, 'Voici' published new reports about the still secret relationship. After Hollande's term of office ended in May 2017, she appeared publicly as his partner.
