action

Alice Bradley works in Tokyo at the Earthquake Research Institute. She is ordered to Baie-Comeau, her native city in Canada, because the tides have stopped there. The phenomenon could be an indication of an impending earthquake. Arrived at the airport, Marc Vandal arouses her interest. The pilot extinguishes forest fires in the area with the CL-415 aircraft . His wife has been missing for a long time, she crashed into the sea on a plane. Some residents of the city behave strangely and there are quite mysterious events. When the tide stopped, one of Marc's aviation colleagues had an inkling of the contents of his water load, which he dumped over a forest. One looks for and actually finds the remains of Marie Vandal at this point. Marc is relieved that he can finally say goodbye to her. He and Alice are making love on the beach when they feel an earthquake that brings the tides back. They are cut off by the rising water on a sandbar. Alice, unable to swim, almost drowns before being rescued by a boat. But now she is sure that Marie had a nice death. Alice and Marc are happy in each other's arms.
