Julius Oswald

Julius Oswald (* 1943 in Yugoslavia ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian , publicist , Jesuit and library director.

Life

Julius Oswald entered the Jesuit order after graduating from high school in 1967. After studying philosophy and Catholic theology , he did a doctorate in philosophy at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich with a thesis on the philosophical position of the founders of the magazine “Praxis”, with a special focus on their criticism of religion. He completed his training for higher library service at the Bavarian Library School. Subsequently, he was head of the library and lecturer at the University of Philosophy of the Jesuits in Munich . He published numerous writings, especially on the history of the Jesuits in German-speaking countries. He is the founder and chairman of Jesuitica e. V. After his work at the University of Philosophy in Munich, he worked in the city pastoral care in Augsburg and the community pastoral care in the Munich area, now in Garching near Munich .
