Julius Rudolph

Julius Rudolph (born June 16, 1857 in Hanover ; † December 8, 1915 there ) was a German actor and theater director .

Life

Julius Rudolph was born in 1857 in the royal seat of the Kingdom of Hanover as the son of a businessman. After attending various drama schools in Leipzig and Munich , he made his debut in Erfurt during the early days of the German Empire and then played in Königsberg and Kassel .

In 1889 Rudolph took over the management of the Halle Opera House in Halle an der Saale . From 1896 to 1898 he headed the German City Theater in Riga . He then went to Paris for two years .

In 1900 Rudolph acquired the Residenztheater in his hometown and, after various renovations and modernizations, led it to great success.
