Julius Walter

Julius Guido Wilhelm Hermann Walter (born April 22, 1841 in Wolmar , Livonia , † July 14, 1922 in Münster , Westphalia ) was a German philosopher .

Life

Julius Walter, the son of the Superintendent of Livonia, Bishop Ferdinand Walter , devoted himself to put- graduate studies of history , philosophy and theology at the universities of Dorpat and Jena , where he in 1870 the degree of Dr. phil. acquired and as 1873 Associate Professor of Philosophy habilitated . In 1875 Walter received an extraordinary and in 1876 a full professorship in philosophy at the Albertus University in Königsberg , which he held until his retirement in 1907. In the official year 1886/87 Walter was elected rector of the University of Königsberg.

Since 1881 Walter was with Anna, geb. Völsch married.
