Since it was founded in 1996, an orchestra academy lasting one to two weeks has also taken place. After the Andechs Monastery served as a venue for three years from 1998, the Academy has been held in Seeon Monastery since 2001. Masterpieces of symphonic literature from the baroque to the present are presented. The chronological order of the composers of the respective main works reads as follows: C. Ph. E. The third integral part of the program of the Junge Münchner Philharmonie is the “Symphonic Master Class”. Symphonic works from WA Mozart to Edward Elgar are rehearsed under the direction of important conductors such as Zubin Mehta , Colin Davis and Esa-Pekka Salonen . Since 2001, the La Villa Easter Academy has established itself as the fourth regular project, an academy and master class for chamber music and chamber orchestra.

In 2002, the Junge Münchner Philharmonie under Mark Mast performed for the first time in collaboration with the Junge Ensemble of the Bavarian State Opera and the Orchestra Academy of the Bavarian State Orchestra pieces from well-known operas by great composers such as Mozart, Handel and Vivaldi as part of opera concerts, a project that has been running once since 2004 takes place annually in 2006 Laurent Pillot, head of the opera studio of the Bavarian State Opera, took over the overall management of the opera project. Also in 2007 Pillot took part in the new edition of the opera concerts.

The sixth mainstay of the orchestra is the benefit concert, which has been held annually on WA Mozart's birthday since 2004, at which the juxtaposition of works by Mozart and composers of the 20th century has become a thematic tradition.

In September 2006, the Junge Münchner Philharmonie celebrated its 10th anniversary with the performance of the 9th Symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven in the Herkulessaal in Munich . On January 1, 2007, the Junge Münchner Philharmonie performed the New Year's Concert in the Great Festival Hall in Salzburg. Together with the specially founded choir, which quickly grew to 130 members, she again performed Beethoven's 9th Symphony, which she performed again at the final concert of the European Weeks in Passau in 2007.

In addition, chamber music masterclasses in “La Villa”, numerous other concerts at home and abroad and cooperation with other well-known partners such as the Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding in the Prinzregententheater and the Celibidache Foundation expand the offerings of the Junge Münchner Philharmonie. Particularly noteworthy are the guest performance at the EXPO 2000 in Hanover, the CD productions in 2001 and the DVD productions in 2005 and 2006.

Admission and selection

Annually, after an audition announcement, musicians are selected for auditions at music colleges and conservatories throughout Germany, who are then specifically invited for the various projects. This way of working offers as many young musicians as possible the opportunity to take part in professionally designed projects and guarantees the high quality of each individual production. During the rehearsal, special emphasis is placed on working with highly qualified lecturers for the individual groups.
