Junkernhees is a district of Kreuztal in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Siegen-Wittgenstein .
It is embedded in the valley of the Heesbach and surrounded by forests. The approximately 70 houses are distributed over a fairly large area and are crossed by the L 712 state road. To the north Junkernhees borders on Osthelden . To the west are the districts of Mittelhees and Oberhees . Fellinghausen follows in the east and then Kreuztal .
At the end of the village in the direction of Mittelhees there is an old cultural monument, Junkernhees Castle .
The name Hees comes from the Heesers who settled there almost 700 years ago. Junkernhees was first mentioned in a document in 1294.
Until the municipal reorganization in North Rhine-Westphalia on January 1, 1969, Junkernhees was part of the then Osthelden community .
