Osthelden [ ɔst'hɛl.dn̩ , ɔstˈhɛl.dən ] is a district of Kreuztal , Siegen-Wittgenstein district and takes its name from the Osthelde stream . It is on the road from Wenden to Kreuztal, where the road leads down into the valley with a sharp bend.
history
Osthelden is one of the oldest settlements in the Siegerland . There is no record of its creation. In terms of folk culture, Osthelden is a Moselle-Franconian- speaking place and lies on the Uerdinger and Benrath lines . It is unclear since when the first people used the protected hollow on the upper reaches of the Ostheldener Bach as a settlement. The first written reference to Osthelden found in Bickenschen man book , a Lehnsregister the Lords of Bicken . There it says (in today's words): Anno Domini 1344 - "The Lords of Bicken ( Hainchen Castle / Netphen ) had given the tithe rights in Osthelden and Fellinghausen to the Gobel von der Hees."
For the year 1461 five people are named to be subject to the treasury. A tax list from 1563 mentions nine households. The first accurate map "Marking of the village of Osthelden" was made in 1720 by Erich Philipp Ploennies .
Of the 28 buildings drawn in the original cadastre from 1834, 24 are residential buildings. The oldest surviving house in Osthelden - built in 1657 - was demolished in 2003.
Until the municipal reorganization in North Rhine-Westphalia on January 1, 1969, Osthelden was an independent municipality, which also includes today's Kreuztal district of Junkernhees . The places were part of the former Ferndorf office .
