Stendenbach is a district of Kreuztal in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Siegen-Wittgenstein .

geography

Stendenbach is north-north-west of the city center, surrounded by Littfeld in the north, Bockenbach and Eichen in the south, and Krombach in the north-west. The area of ​​Stendenbach covers 2.07 km². The length of the district boundary is 6.7 kilometers.

history

A mention of Stendenbach already took place in the oldest diocesan register around the year 1300, in which the place is recorded as "Stentenbach" next to the also named "Buckenbach". In the following century, a property in Stendenbach is registered as subject to tax in the Siegen pension register from 1414/1419. In an appraisal register from the year 1461, three people are listed for Stendenbach.

Coat of arms from 1960 Belonging to the Ferndorf office , Stendenbach and Bockenbach were incorporated into the municipality of Eichen on December 1, 1960. From this time on, the three originally independent communities also had a common coat of arms. Due to the Second Siegerland Act of November 5, 1968, which came into force on January 1, 1969 , Stendenbach was then assigned to the city of Kreuztal as part of the municipality of Eichen. Now Stendenbach counts again as an independent district.
