Career
society
Justin Braun began his career on the high school soccer team in his hometown of Salt Lake City, where he was one of the top scorers in the state of Utah several times, making him two of the all-state teams . In 2007, Braun moved, undrafted , to the amateur club Olympique Montreux and stayed in the Salt Lake City area. There he was invited in January 2008 to participate in an amateur tournament of the United States Adult Soccer Association for the Utah national team . After he was discovered there by the head coach of Chivas USA , Predrag Radosavljević , he was invited to the training camp. In March 2008 he signed a contract with Chivas USA.
Braun played his first major league soccer game on March 30, 2008 in a 1-1 draw against FC Dallas . In total, he played 24 games for the Californians in his rookie season and scored four goals. Also in the playoffs Braun played in both games of the first round against Real Salt Lake , but could not prevent the elimination despite his first goal in the playoffs. In the 2009 season he played only 15 games because he missed a lot of the games mid-season with a concussion. At the end of the season he returned to the team and was able to play the two playoff games, in which Chivas USA failed again in the first round.
In the 2010 season, Braun established himself as a regular player and scored nine goals more than in his previous MLS career, and he also made three assists. As the last of the Western Conference, his team missed the playoffs. In the following season Braun scored eight goals, on May 15, 2011 he also managed the first hat-trick of his career in the game against the New York Red Bulls . Just two months later, on July 23, he scored again three times against Houston Dynamo . With a total of 24 goals in the regular season, Braun is second among the top scorers in the club's internal comparison.
After the end of the regular season, Justin Braun moved to the Canadian expansion team Montreal Impact in November 2011 , which started playing in the MLS in 2012. He played his first game for the club at the season opener against the Vancouver Whitecaps . On July 11, 2012, Braun was given up after twelve games and moved to Real Salt Lake in his hometown .
International
So far, Braun has not been used for the United States national team . He received his first invitation to a training session for the national team on December 22, 2009, but was not in the squad for the following friendly match. In 2011 he was invited to the training camp again, but had to cancel his participation due to an injury to his Achilles tendon .
