Justin Lee Langer (born November 21, 1970 in Perth , Australia ) is a retired Australian cricketer . Together with Matthew Hayden , he formed one of the most successful starting batsmen teams of all time. In 2001 he was named one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year .
Justin Langer completed 105 test matches for Australia between 1993 and 2007 , in which he scored a total of 7696 runs (45.27 runs per wicket). Langer made his test debut in January 1993 against the West Indies team in Adelaide. His best performance as a batsman was 250 runs, which he scored against England at Melbourne Cricket Ground in December 2002 . In total, Langer achieved 23 Test Centuries (100 or more runs) in his career. His last use in a test was against England in January 2007 as part of the Ashes series 2006/2007 . After the tournament he ended his international career together with Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath .
