Reiter has been taking part in FIS competitions since 1997 . He has been competing in the Nor Am Cup since 2001, where he has won 16 races so far and took first place in the parallel overall ranking in the 2012/13 season. He drove his first World Cup race in Arosa in March 2003 , which he finished in 41st place in the parallel giant slalom. At the Snowboard World Championships 2005 in Whistler , he achieved 15th place in the parallel slalom and tenth place in the parallel giant slalom. In March 2005 he reached his first top ten placement in the World Cup with ninth place in the parallel slalom in Sierra Nevada . At the Snowboard World Championships 2007 in Arosa he came in 13th place in the parallel slalom and 11th in the parallel giant slalom. In March 2008 he reached his first World Cup podiums with third place in the parallel giant slalom in Valmalenco . At the Snowboard World Championships 2013 in Stoneham , he won silver in the parallel slalom. In the parallel giant slalom, he finished 11th. In February 2014 he came third in the parallel giant slalom in Sudelfeld . In the same month he won the 24th place in the parallel giant slalom in his first Olympic participation in Sochi in 2014 . At the 2015 Snowboard World Championships on Kreischberg , he finished 28th in the parallel giant slalom and 14th in the parallel slalom. In early March 2015 he reached second place in the parallel slalom in Asahikawa . A week later he won his first World Cup victory in the parallel slalom in Moscow and finished the season in fourth place in the parallel slalom ranking and third in the parallel overall ranking. At the Snowboard World Championships 2017 in Sierra Nevada , he came 34th in the parallel slalom and tenth in the parallel giant slalom.
