Juszczyna is a village with a Schulzenamt of the Radziechowy-Wieprz municipality in the Powiat Żywiecki of the Silesian Voivodeship in Poland .
geography
The place is located in the Saybuscher Beskids ( Beskid Żywiecki ) on the Juszczynka brook on the way from Węgierska Górka to Jeleśnia .
history
Since 1467 the Saybusch rule belonged to the noble Komorowski family, who began a settlement campaign. The place was founded as a rural settlement. Andrzej Komoniecki (* 1678, † 1729) mentioned the place in his chronicle under the year 1628.
During the first partition of Poland , Juszczyna became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire in 1772 (from 1804).
The village was one of the poorest in the area. In the flooding in 1908, 21 of the residents were killed. In 1911 the first elementary school was opened.
In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Juszczyna came to Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II . It then belonged to the district of Saybusch in the administrative district of Katowice in the province of Silesia (since 1941 province of Upper Silesia ). As part of the so-called Aktion Saybusch , some Polish families were expelled from Juszczyna in 1940 in order to settle ethnic German families. The local school then served the German children.
From 1975 to 1998 Juszczyna was part of the Bielsko-Biała Voivodeship .
