Jutta Burggraf
Jutta Burggraf (* 1952 in Hildesheim ; † November 5, 2010 in Pamplona ) was a German theologian.
Life
Jutta Burggraf joined the Roman Catholic organization Opus Dei in 1968 in the Cologne study center . She received her doctorate in educational psychology from the University of Cologne in 1979 and in Catholic theology in 1984 from the University of Navarra , an institution founded and run by Opus Dei .
For many years she worked as a trainer and leader in Opus Dei training centers in Germany. From 1984 to 1994 she was also a member of the board of the Association for Independent Schools. V. In 1989 Burggraf was appointed full professor at the Department of Anthropology at the International Academic Institute in Kerkrade , the Netherlands . Burggraf received a professorship for ecclesiology , in particular for theology of creation , ecumenical theology and feminist theology at the University of Navarra in 1996 .
Burggraf was invited as an expert to the 7th Ordinary Synod of Bishops , which took place in Rome from October 1 to 30, 1987 , and took part in the preparation of the Apostolic Exhortation Christifideles laici on the “vocation and mission of the laity in church and world” from Pope John Paul II participated.
She had been a corresponding member of the Pontificia Accademia Mariana Internazionale (PAMI) since 1996 . In addition, she was a member of the Scientific Council of the International Mariological Working Group Kevelaer (IMAK Kevelaer) . In an IMAK book, Jutta Burggraf, who consciously lived celibate, wrote: Maria, "Virgin of the virgins and queen of heaven", is "above all mother". Her motherhood brings "more than all feminism" the "femininity to recognition and validity". Feminists "who deny marriage and motherhood out of an attitude of contempt and hatred can of course never grasp the meaning and value of Christian virginity".
Jutta Burggraf was co-editor of the Mariologisches magazine . She has published around 20 books of her own and has contributed to numerous other publications.
