Life

Growing up at the foot of the Swabian Alb, she moved to Hamburg in the early 1990s to study philosophy , where she still lives today. After some theater and cabaret productions in which Lachmann participated, she presented her first solo program Esst mehr Obst in 1995 . This was followed by TV appearances in the Quatsch Comedy Club , Ottis Schlachthof or the Harald Schmidt Show . In 1996 she won 1st place at the NDR 2 Comedy Prize. Her second stage program Moussaka in Wigwam brought her back to German cabaret stages in 1998. The following year she won the audience award at the Prix Pantheon in Bonn. In the early 2000s, Käthe Lachmann was mainly seen on ZDF , including in the series Olli, Tiere, Sensationen , or in episodes of the Hidden Camera , before she presented her third stage program in 2001, Others let themselves be pierced . Two years later, Lachmann went on tour with her fourth stage show Sitzriesen . For 2004 she and Susanne Betancor planned the joint program Privat am I Profi . After a few appearances, Lachmann broke off the tour in 2005 for personal reasons and only continued it in early 2006. The two artists are now touring together again, presenting skits, pieces of music and solo numbers. Lachmann also toured Germany in 2006 with her best-of program Ten Years Laughter . The program is a collage of the most popular numbers from the past ten years on the stage. Käthe Lachmann is a regular guest on various television programs , for example in the Quatsch Comedy Club on ProSieben .

From 2007 to 2010 Lachmann toured Germany with her stage program A two-track horse . The CD recording took place on September 5th and 6th, 2008 in the ufaFabrik in Berlin . In the summer of 2010 she presented her new program I'm only here because you're on top of me .

Probably the most famous figure that Lachmann embodies again and again is the dubbing actress Elke Schmitt, who is characterized by an overly affected manner of speaking and a naive, charming character. Other well-known parodies by Lachmann include Ottfried Fischer and Ulla Schmidt . According to her own statements (a two-pronged horse) she is the only person in the world who has mastered the “nose guitar”.

As it became known in 2018, Lachmann suffered from panic attacks for years . She retired from the stage in 2015 because of an anxiety disorder .

Awards

“Käthe Lachmann overwhelms her audience with her contagious silliness. Supposedly 1: 1, she satirizes people on stage whose naivete seems to have been taken straight from everyday life. Until the moment when Käthe Lachmann's fantasy lets her characters tip into the absurd. With an almost inexhaustible abundance of possibilities for acting, facial expressions and vocal expression, she always succeeds in a surprising twist. "
