The Kékes [ ˈkeːkɛʃ ], also known as Kékestető , is the highest mountain in Hungary at 1014  m . It is located in the Mátra Mountains in the north of the country.

The Kékes is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Hungary. Today it is well developed for tourism with ski slopes and hotels. In addition, the Mátra Railway runs between Gyöngyös and Mátrafüred and between Gyöngyös and Szalajkaház . The Kékes is also known as a wine-growing region. From the climatic health resort of Mátraháza , the top of the Kékes can be easily reached on a hiking trail (also an access road - 4 km). There is a mountain sanatorium and an accessible television tower that is guyed to the ground. The company VOLÁNBUSZ Zrt. offers a direct bus connection from Budapest to the sanatorium.

The name Kékes means "bluish" and is due to the fact that the mountain sometimes appears in this color.

The Országos Kéktúra long-distance hiking trail and the Eisenach – Budapest mountain hiking trail lead over the mountain top . On the third weekend in July, a mountain race to the top is organized from Parádsasvár .
