Kühnham is a district of the town of Pocking in the Lower Bavarian district of Passau . Until 1971 it formed an independent municipality.

Kühnham is located in the Rottal about four kilometers west of Pocking on the Passau – Neumarkt – Sankt Veit railway , to which it is connected by the Kühnham stop.
history
In 1752 Kühnham belonged to the administration of Zell and to the Karpfham office of the Griesbach regional court . At that time the distant Reichenbach Monastery was also wealthy here.
In 1811, the tax district Kühnham was formed from the chairmanship of Zell and Osterholzen and the town of Gerau, which belongs to the chairmanship of Berg . The municipality that emerged from this in 1818 was congruent with the tax district and comprised 14 districts. On April 12, 1838, the Kühnham community came to the newly formed Rotthalmünster district court .
On April 1, 1971, as part of the regional reform in Bavaria, the municipality of Kühnham, which belonged to the district of Griesbach im Rottal , was voluntarily incorporated into the town of Pocking. On October 11, 2012, the completion of the new street and the renovation of St. Martin's Church were celebrated. Since then , the town center has been adorned with a large boulder that the Meier company donated after the construction work was completed.

The early Gothic building from the 13th / 14th centuries The 18th century was converted to Baroque style in the 18th century and has a neo-classicist interior with baroque figures. The Kühnham branch has belonged to the Weihmörting parish since 1818 , before that it was part of the Rotthalmünster parish.
