KPCC ("No Rant No Slant") is a US public radio station based in Pasadena , California . The station is one of two National Public Radio (NPR) stations in Southern California; the other is KCRW-FM Santa Monica .

KPCC transmits on the FM frequency 89.3 M Hz with 0.6 k W and is operated by Santa Monica College ( Pasadena CityCollege ). While the station is licensed to Pasadena City College, the station is operated by Southern California Public Radio (SCPR), a US public broadcaster . The current CEO of National Public Radio (NPR) in Washington was chairman of the board of KPCC until his appointment in 2014.

Technicians from KPCC worked with the National Public Radio Labs (Technical Development Department of the NPR) to improve the reception of the station. At the end of 2016, the SCPR announced that KPCC is now also more audible in Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades , Sawtelle and Brentwood . The reception on the Pacific Coast Highway between Santa Monica and Malibu should now also be better.

KPCC broadcasts a hybrid FM signal on standard HD radio (analog and digital).
