Sá Carneiro Cabinet

The Sá Carneiro Cabinet was formed in Portugal on January 3, 1980 by Prime Minister Francisco Sá Carneiro and replaced the Lourdes Pintasilgo cabinet . The cabinet included members of the Partido Social Democrata (PSD) and the Centro Democrático e Social (CDS). After the Prime Minister was killed in a plane crash on December 4, 1980, Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Diogo Freitas do Amaral acted as Acting Prime Minister before Francisco Pinto Balsemão formed the Pinto Balsemão I cabinet on January 9, 1981 .
