history

In 1269, Duke Barnim I of Pomerania donated the villages of Kadow and Völschow to Verchen Monastery . In the following year Heidenreich von Heydebreck and Dietrich von Kartzow were enfeoffed with the two villages. The Camminer Bishop Hermann confirmed the tithe from Kadow and other villages to Verchen Monastery in 1274 .

In 1515, Hasse von der Schulenburg sold his goods in Kadow, Zarrenthin, Bentzin and Klein Toitin to Henning von Parsenow. Henning and his brother Bernd von Parsenow were soon enfeoffed with these goods by Duke Bogislaw X.

In 1572 Duke Ernst Ludwig enfeoffed Michael Tessin and his son of the same name with Kadow and Priemen. Duke Philipp Julius renewed this loan in 1602 to the sons of the elder Michael Tessin, Kurt and Ewald, and his grandchildren Henning and Bernd Tessin.

In the first half of the 18th century, the district administrator Ernst Sigismund von Walsleben and his brother Hans Reimar Ehrenreich bought the shares of the von Parsenow, von Maltzahn, von Heyden and von Podewils families in the Kadow, Gramzow and Jagetzow estates . In 1735 they sold Jagetzow and Kadow with shares in Gramzow to a Gustav Sass or Sasse. After his death in 1754 Cadow went with the Gramzow shares to one of the two daughters of Gustav Sass, the wife of the Tribunal Vice-President Christoph Ehrhardt von Corswant. After her death, Cadow got through her sister Sophia Friederike Sigismunda Sass to her husband, Captain Friedrich Wilhelm von Bomin. This was enfeoffed in 1756 with Kadow and the Jagetzow estate and shares in Gramzow. In 1765 Cadow was allodified. After von Bomin's death, Cadow was auctioned off in 1794 for 23,000 thalers to Captain Moritz Heinrich von Wittke.

In the northern Feldmark of Kadow, through which the road from Demmin to Anklam ran at that time, the stone jug and a windmill were located until the beginning of the 19th century. Both were never rebuilt after fires.

In the first half of the 19th century, the Kartlow landlord Wichard Wilhelm von Heyden acquired the Kadow estate. After his death in 1836 it belonged to the inheritance of his second son, the later district administrator Hermann von Heyden . His second son Wilhelm later named himself after the estate Wilhelm von Heyden-Cadow . In 1862 Kadow had 104 inhabitants.

Kadow was resettled in 1932.
