Kai Bahlmann

Kai Bahlmann (born January 29, 1927 in Düsseldorf ; † May 28, 2009 ) was a German lawyer and judge at the European Court of Justice .

Bahlmann studied law at the Universities of Cologne , Bonn and Freiburg from 1947 to 1951 and completed his legal clerkship between 1952 and 1956. In 1956 he became a court assessor at the Cologne Higher Regional Court . He worked as a research assistant at the Federal Constitutional Court from 1958 to 1960; In 1959 he became a district judge at the district court in Cologne . In 1961 Bahlmann moved to the Federal Ministry of Justice , Department for Public Law , of which he became head in 1969. From October 7, 1982 to October 6, 1988 he was a judge at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg .
