Kai Möller (born May 15, 1903 in Altona ; † August 1983 ) was a German actor and radio play author .

life and career

After attending a secondary school, he received acting lessons from Friedrich Taeger in Hamburg and Serafine Détschy in Berlin . He made his debut in 1920 as a high school student in Hugenberg Erdgeist the Municipal Theater of Harburg .

This was followed by engagements in Altona, Kiel , Frankfurt an der Oder (1921 to 1925), Koblenz , Stuttgart and at the Schauspiel Frankfurt from 1932 to 1935. From 1935 to 1938 he was on various Berlin stages and toured with Paul Wegener .

From 1938 to 1944 he belonged to the ensemble of the Berlin Schillertheater , where he was also deputy director. At that time he not only worked as an actor in films, but he sometimes also took on the dialogue direction or was involved as an assistant director .

From 1945 to 1946 he worked at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin and from 1947 on the stages of the city of Cologne . There he was also the personal assistant to General Manager Herbert Maisch .

Möller worked as a radio play author in the literary department and on school radio for various broadcasters. From 1932 to 1935 he wrote in Frankfurt am Main and from 1936 to 1947 in Berlin, after which he worked for the NWDR . In 1954 he wrote the biography Paul Wegener - his life and his roles , which he also edited. Wegener's repertoire book as well as more than 2000 photos by Wegener and extensive correspondence were found in Möller's estate.
