A gentle basin opens to the north, which is surrounded by tame mountains of grass. There are a number of beautiful and easy hikes to choose from. • Scheffauer ( 2111  m ) over the Widauersteig in 2½ hours with climbing points of difficulty level I on the UIAA scale (via ferrata with difficulty A / B).
  • Zettenkaiser ( 1968  m ) over the small cemetery and the normal route in two hours with climbing points of difficulty II on the UIAA scale.
  • Hackenköpfe ( 2126  m ) and Sonneck via Widauersteig and Scheffauer, difficult ridge crossing.
  • Various alpine (partly sport) climbing routes in the north faces of Scheffauer and Zettenkaiser.
  • Climbing garden near the hut
