Kainsricht is the smallest district of the municipality Gibbach in the district of Amberg-Sulzbach in the Upper Palatinate in Bavaria .

geography

Kainsricht is naturally located in the ascent of the Vilstal towards the Upper Palatinate Forest , directly on the federal road 299 ( Amberg - Freihung ). In addition, Kainsricht can be reached viahabenbach on federal road 14 ( Hirschau - Sulzbach-Rosenberg ). The center of Kainsricht is at an altitude of 442  m above sea level. NN

history

About 200 m northeast of the town center are burial sites of prehistoric times on an area of ​​0.6  hectares , which are protected as soil monuments.

The Bavarian original cadastre shows Kainsricht in the 1810s as a planned street village with 12 hearths. The farms were each less than 0.5 only with business surfaces  ha equipped, and thus to the soil enslaved. The village pond and the chapel did not exist at that time. The areas in the town center described with the number “13” were part of the common land .

The listed chapel in Kainsricht is a brick building closed on three sides with a gable roof and a simple facade structure. The architectural style is neo-Gothic and originated around 1897. The furnishings include a wayside shrine and nearby there is a relief sandstone pillar with a niche figure, which is crowned by a cast iron cross dated 1886.

The population of Kainsricht has stagnated for the past thirty years. As early as 1987, with 81 residents, it had reached a peak.
