Vegetative characteristics

Kalanchoe citrina is a perennial plant that is completely tomentose with shaggy, pointed, non-glandular hairs that can grow to heights of 20 to 150 centimeters. The upright or prostrate at the base-erect shoots are gray. The sessile or stalked leaves are gray or brownish green. The up to 2 centimeters long petiole is flattened and furrowed on the upper side. The lanceolate to slightly rhombic or egg-shaped to almost circular leaf blade is up to 12 inches long and 4 inches wide. Its tip is pointed or blunt, the base wedge-shaped. The leaf margin is serrated to almost entire or occasionally deeply incised.

Generative characteristics

The small, dense, flat-topped inflorescence is zymös and up to 15 centimeters long. The upright flowers are on 1 to 5 millimeter long peduncles . Your felty calyx tube is about 1 millimeter long. The awl to triangular-lanceolate calyx lobes are 4 to 8 millimeters long and 1 to 8 millimeters wide. The felty petals are pale lemon yellow or golden yellow or brownish orange-pink. The corolla tube is 10 to 12 millimeters long. Their obovate corolla lobes have an attached tip. They have a length of 5 to 7 millimeters and are 2.8 to 3.5 millimeters wide. The stamens do not protrude from the flower. The oblong egg-shaped anthers are 0.7 to 1.1 millimeters long. The linear-lanceolate nectar scales have a length of 2.5 to 3.5 millimeters. The linear-lanceolate carpel has a length of 6 to 8.5 millimeters. The stylus is 1 to 2 millimeters long.

Kalanchoe citrina is common in Yemen , Ethiopia , Somalia , Uganda and Kenya .
