Kaliese Spencer (born May 6, 1987 in Savanna-La-Mar ) is a Jamaican athlete who specializes in the 400 meter hurdles .

Internationally, she first attracted attention at the World Junior Athletics Championships in Beijing in 2006 . There she won the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 55.11 s. She also won the bronze medal with the Jamaican 4 x 400 meter relay .

After she was eliminated in the hurdles sprint in the semifinals at the 2007 World Athletics Championships in Osaka , she tried her hand at the flat 400 m and sometimes also in the 800-meter run in the 2008 season, as at the beginning of her career . At the 2009 World Athletics Championships in Berlin , however, she started again over 400 m hurdles and finished fourth with a time of 53.56 s. She was also a member of the Jamaican 4 x 400 meter relay, which won the silver medal in Berlin. However, Spencer himself was only used in the qualifying round.

In June 2011, she became the Jamaican champion in the 400-meter hurdles. At the World Athletics Championships in 2011 in Daegu , she reached the final in this discipline and finished fourth with a time of 54.01 s. In 2012 she finished fourth at the London Olympics .

Kaliese Spencer is a member of the MVP Track & Field Club and is trained by Stephen Francis , who also looks after Olympic champion Melaine Walker .
