Fröhlins

The wasteland of Fröhlin is about two kilometers north of Ottobeuren. The place is directly connected to the main town by a country road. A tributary of the Western Günz flows through the place . It is nestled between the 720 meter high Buschelberg and the 721 meter high Bocksberg.

history

In 1145 and 1180 the Ottobeuren monastery received individual goods from its servant Berthold von Dennenberg. The castle belonging to the corridors of Fröhlins was probably demolished in the same period. In 1564 Fröhlins had 14 residents. In 1811 twelve people lived in two properties.

Attractions

On the Buschelberg, a vantage point over the Upper Swabian landscape, a Michaelskapelle, which is now called the Buschelkapelle , was built in 1714 .
