history

Bibelsberg 2010

Bibelsberg was first mentioned in a document in 1152 when Pope Eugene III. the Ottobeuren monastery confirmed possession. Ottobeurer servants only had the place in their hands for a short time. The Ottobeuren monastery received goods from Volkmar von Liebenthann in Bibelsberg as spiritual implements, and Konrad von Liebenthann gave the monastery a farm in 1383. Memmingen citizens secured the place for some time until it finally passed into Ottobeurer ownership in 1427. In 1564 the place had 60 inhabitants.
