Betzisried is a district of the Upper Swabian market Ottobeuren .

geography

Betzisried is about four kilometers east of Ottobeuren. The village is connected to the main town by the St 2013 state road .

history

A Konrad and Otto von Bertinesriet are listed in the Ottobeurer directory of service men around 1170. A court was triggered during the term of office of Abbot Konrad I and pledged to the servant Heinrich von Böglins. The place was assigned to Ottobeurer servants until the 14th century. The Oberhospital in Memmingen received interest from the goods in Betzisried around 1499. Around 1530 the citizens of Memmingen received interest from the town. In 1564 the village had 80 inhabitants. In 1811 there were 104 inhabitants, in 1970 102.

The municipality of Betzisried had an area of ​​1232.59 hectares in 1964 and comprised the twelve parts of the municipality Bäuerle , Betzisried, Eheim , Eheimer Mühle , Gut , Hofs , Oberhaslach , Ölbrechts , Rempolz , Schochenhof , Steeger and Unterhaslach .

On January 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality was incorporated into the Ottobeuren market.

Attractions

The St. Anna Chapel contains a valuable late Gothic winged altar that was made around 1510 to 1520. It contains figures of Anna Selbdritt , Saint Rochus and Saint Sebastian .
