Erasmus I of Starhemberg

Erasmus I. Herr von Starhemberg (* 1503 ; † September 8, 1560 ) was an Austrian nobleman in the lordship. He was the lord of Riedegg in the Mühlviertel , Lobenstein , Wolfsthal in the Bruck an der Leitha district in Lower Austria and Rappottenstein in the Zwettl district in the Waldviertel , in northwest Lower Austria, imperial councilor and chief guardian, lordship councilor and regional committee in Austria above the Enns . In Augsburg he received on July 23, 1559 the approval to unite his coat of arms with that of the Counts of Schaunberg .

Erasmus von Starhemberg was a son of Bartholomäus von Starhemberg (1459-1531) and Magdalene Mistress von Losenstein († 1523), who was a daughter of Wilhelm von Losenstein on Gabelkoven, guild, Losensteinleiten and Schallaburg , imperial councilor and regent of the regiment of Lower Austria Lande, keeper of Ulmerfeld , cadastral community of the district capital Amstetten in Lower Austria († 1506) and who was Barbara from the Bavarian noble family von Parsberg . Erasmus was married twice. His first wife was Anna Countess von Schaunberg (1513–1551), the heir daughter of Georg Reichsgraf zu Schaunberg (in the (arch) duchy of Austria above the Enns in the Hausruckviertel , where the family castle, the current ruins of Schaunburg in Hartkirchen, stands) on Eferding , Stauf, Mistelbach, Peuerbach and Erlach and the Genoveva Imperial Countess von Arco , who comes from an old and noble noble family from the Principality of Trento in what is now Trentino-South Tyrol . After long disputes over inheritance, most of the Schaunberg inheritance came to the Starhembergers through Anna . The couple had the following children, among others:

He entered into a second marriage on July 30, 1553, with Regina von Polheim (* January 30, 1522, † October 8, 1572), who was a daughter of Siegmund Ludwig zu Polheim auf Parz and Anna von Eckartsau auf Bockfliess, but had with him you no children.
