The Grupo Kalise Menorquina ( GKM for short ) is a Spanish manufacturer of desserts , ice creams and yoghurts with headquarters in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria . The company emerged in 1999 from the merger of the family businesses Kalise and Especialidades La Menorquina Menorca . In 2005, Grupo Kalise took over 95% of SIALSA with the brand name Sandra .
Products
Produced milk , condensed milk , cream , cheese , milk shake , yogurt, ice cream, ice cream cakes , water ice (span. Polo), sherbet and gluten-free Spezialeis which under the registered brand name Kalise , Menorquina and Sandra are sold.
Product ingredients and export
The raw materials for the various products come from the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands and the Spanish mainland. The main customer is Spain; however, some of the goods are exported to Europe, Africa, America and Asia. In Germany, Süd-Eis has been working with Grupo Kalise Menorquina SA for several years.
Locations
Grupo Kalise Menorquina manufactures its products in its plants in Las Palmas , Palma and in Palau-solità i Plegamans near Barcelona . Menorquina produces around 60 million liters of ice a year and is the third largest ice cream producer in Spain.
In 2005 , Grupo Kalise employed 1,400 workers in Spain and is the largest employer in the Canary Islands .
