The Kaltenbach , called Hipperichsiefen in the upper reaches for 1.5 km , is a 5.8 km long orographically left tributary of the Agger in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany . The brook flows completely in the Oberbergischer Kreis .
geography
The brook rises as Hipperichsiefen on the northwestern outskirts of Brächen at an altitude of 322 m above sea level. NN . From here the brook first flows in a north-westerly direction and after a stretch of about 1 km it passes the border with Engelskirchen . From the mouth of a short tributary about 500 m further downstream, the Kaltenbach stream becomes . In the following section the stream is dammed by several ponds and it turns its course to the northeast. A little later the brook flows through the village of Kaltenbach . At the northern edge of the village, the 1.3 km long Uferbach flows out on the right. Once again flowing in north-westerly directions, the stream is accompanied by state road 302. South of the Hüttenberg, the stream is dammed again. Here water is chipped into a ditch (GKZ 27285916). About 250 m below the dam, the 1 km long Hollensiefen empties on the left before the Kaltenbach itself at Unterkaltenbach at 126 m above sea level. NN flows into the Agger on the left .
With a height difference of 196 m, the mean bed slope is 36.3 ‰. The catchment area of 5.756 km² is drained to the North Sea via Agger, Sieg and Rhine .
