Kaltenherberg (Black Forest)

Kaltenherberg is a hamlet in the Black Forest that belongs to the city of Vöhrenbach . It is located directly on the Black Forest High Road ( B 500 ) south of Furtwangen at an altitude of 1029  m above sea level. NN in the Schwarzwald-Baar district in Baden-Württemberg . The Kalte Herberge inn is located in the hamlet .

Surname

A legend tells that in June a craftsman froze to death on the stove bench in one of the houses in which there was an inn.

European watershed

Two buildings by Kaltenherberg stand exactly on the main European watershed . The rainwater that falls on the left side of the roofs when viewed from the southwest flows over the Hexenloch , Gutach ( Simonswälder Tal ), Elz and Rhine into the North Sea . The rainwater that falls on the right side of the roofs flows over the Urach Valley , the Breg and the Danube to the Black Sea .
