The Kameng is a right tributary of the Brahmaputra in the Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam .
The Kameng is from Nyegi-Kangsang Glacier on the southeast slope of 7047 m high at the border to Tibet located Nyegyi Kansang fed. The river initially flows in a south-easterly, later mainly in a southerly direction through the Assam Himalayas . On the upper reaches it crosses the East Kameng district . The city of Seppa is located on the river. The Kameng picks up the bichom from the right. The Kameng reaches the West Kameng District and forms the western border of the Pakhui Tiger Reserve . The Nameri National Park is further downstream on the east bank of the Kameng. The Kameng leaves the mountains and reaches the Brahmaputra lowlands. The Kameng crosses the border to the southern state of Assam . In Assam, the river is also called Jia Bhoreli . The Sonitpur district is located on the lower reaches . The Kameng flows into the Brahmaputra on the eastern outskirts of Tezpur . The Kameng has a length of 264 km. Its catchment area covers 11,843 km².
