Kamjane ( Ukrainian Кам'яне ; Russian Каменное Kamennoje , Polish Kamień ) is a village in the historic Polesian countryside in northeastern Ukrainian Rivne Oblast . It has about 1300 inhabitants (2001) and an area of 45.761 km².
The village, first mentioned in 1540 under the name Wijtkewytschi ( Війткевичі ), received its current name in 1946.
Amber , which is also illegally mined, is found near the forest-surrounded town on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border .
The village is situated at an altitude of 156 m on the shore of Plaw ( Плав ), a 46 km, right tributary of Szwiha , 50 km north-east of Rajonzentrum Rokytne and about 180 km northeast of the Oblastzentrum Rivne . Territorial road T-18-18 runs through the village .
Kamjane is the administrative center of the eponymous, 147.180 km² district council in the northeast of Rokytne district , to which the villages Budky-Kamjanski ( Будки-Кам'янські , ⊙ ) with about 180 inhabitants and Obsitsch ( Обсіч , ⊙ ) with about 370 inhabitants belong.
