The Taluk Kanchipuram ( Tamil : காஞ்சிபுரம் வட்டம் ; also Kancheepuram, formerly Conjeevaram ) is a taluk ( sub- district) of the Kanchipuram district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu . The capital is the district capital Kanchipuram .

geography

The Taluk Kanchipuram is located in the coastal hinterland west of the Kanchipuram district. It borders on the taluks Sriperumbudur in the east, Chengalpattu in the southeast and Uthiramerur in the south, as well as the districts Tiruvannamalai in the southeast and Vellore in the northeast. The Taluk Kanchipuram is traversed by the Palar River.

The Taluk Kanchipuram is congruent with the blocks Kanchipuram and Walajabad. Its area is 624.9 square kilometers.
