The canton of Catacora is an administrative district in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The canton of Catacora is one of four cantons of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Catacora in the province of José Manuel Pando and is located in the northern part of the district. It borders in the north and west on the Republic of Peru , in the southwest on the canton Thola Khollu , in the south on the canton Pojo Pajchiri , and in the east on the municipality Santiago de Machaca .

The canton extends between 17 ° 05 '30 "and 17 ° 12' southern latitude and 69 ° 20 '30" and 69 ° 34' western latitude, it measures from north to south up to ten kilometers and from west to east up to twenty-five kilometers.
