The canton of Llavica is a municipality in the Department of Potosí in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The Cantón Llavica is one of thirteen cantons in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Colcha "K" in the province of Nor Lípez . The canton is located in the southwestern part of Bolivia, it borders in the west on the province of Daniel Campos , in the southwest on the municipality San Pedro de Quemes , in the south on the canton Colcha "K" , in the southeast on the canton Chuvica , in the east on the canton Santiago de Agencha , and in the northeast to the Canton of Río Grande .
The canton extends between about 20 ° 22 'and 20 ° 39' south latitude and 67 ° 37 'and 67 ° 55' west longitude, it measures up to thirty kilometers from north to south, and up to twenty-five kilometers from east to west . There are only two municipalities in the canton, the central place is Llavica de Agencha in the south-eastern part of the canton with 174 inhabitants, the mean altitude of the canton is 3750 m .

The canton of Llavica is located in the southern part of the Altiplano on the edge of the Salar de Uyuni salt lake . The region's climate is typical of the time of day ; in which the mean temperature fluctuations in the course of the day are more pronounced than in the course of the seasons.
