The Chapel Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. ( Serbian : Капела светих апостола Петра и Павла, Kapela svetih apostola Petra i Pavla), a Serbian Orthodox cemetery chapel in Rastuša , a village in the Opština (municipality) Teslić in Bosnia and Herzegovina .

The chapel , built from 1995 to 2000, belongs to the Rastuša parish in the Teslić deanery of the Zvornik - Tuzla eparchy of the Serbian Orthodox Church. The church is dedicated to the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul

location

The new Kondžin Panj cemetery is located next to the chapel of St. Apostles Peter and Paul on the south side. It was founded on April 14, 1992 when the future cemetery area was consecrated by the responsible priest. The first deceased to be buried in the cemetery was Đorđo Bogdanić from the hamlet of Rijeka.

The chapel is located in the hamlet of Rijeka in the village of Rastuša, which has around 1300 inhabitants, in the Opština Teslić in northern central Bosnia .

The place is about 12 km northwest of the municipality capital Teslić. The Opština Teslić is located in the Republika Srpska , the predominantly Serbian entity , Bosnia and Herzegovina .

history

The chapel with the dimensions 10 × 6 m was initially planned as a mourning hall . Over time it was decided to build a chapel. And on June 15, 1995 the construction of the chapel began. The chapel foundations were not consecrated. The construction work was carried out by DOO Vukadinović from Teslić.

Ktitors (donors) of the chapel are: Lazar Popović, Nedeljko Malić, Simo Malić and Ratko Simaković .

The chapel and bell were inaugurated on November 21, 2000 by Archpriests Stanislav Rađen and Nedeljko Prišić .

Archpriest Nedeljko Prišić is currently the parish priest of the Rastuša parish, which consists of the two villages Rastuša and Ukrinica and whose seat is the village of Rastuša.

The chapel is the only place of worship in the parish , alongside the Parish Church of the Protection and Intercession of the Virgin Mary in Rastuša, which was built between 1998 and 2010 .

architecture

The single-nave chapel has a small bell tower with a round dome on the west side and a church bell. The entrance is also on the west side with a small column entrance portal . The chapel was built from bricks. The roof is also covered with tiles. The round dome is covered with copper sheets.

There is a silver cross on the round dome . The chapel is also adorned by a small, fenced-in chapel courtyard with a small entrance gate.

The chapel is not frescoed inside . It has an oak iconostasis carved by Dragan Panić from the village of Gornji Ružević .

Next to the chapel there is an auxiliary building measuring 8 × 4.5 m in which the mourners can gather before the funeral.
