Karaahmetli is a former village in the Erdemli district of the Turkish province of Mersin . Since a regional reform in 2014, the place has been part of the district town of Erdemli. Karaahmetli is located in the southwest of the district, about eight kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea, on the road from Ayaş on the coast through the mountainous hinterland to Esenpınar .

Two kilometers west of the village are the ruins of Emirzeli , a little further northwest those of Hacıömerli . In ancient times there was a Roman - Early Byzantine settlement with 30 to 40 houses in the town itself, as evidenced by numerous ashlar spoilers and limestone door frames .
