Karen Chanloung (born July 1, 1996 ) is a Thai former Italian cross-country skier .

Career

Chanloung took part in U18 and U20 races in the Alpine Cup for Italy from 2012 to 2016 . She has been racing for Thailand since the 2016/17 season. She ran her first World Cup race in January 2017 in Toblach , which she finished in 48th place in the sprint. At the U23 World Ski Championships 2017 in Soldier Hollow , she finished 37th in sprint, 36th place over 10 km freestyle and 35th place in skiathlon . Her best placement at the Winter Asian Games 2017 in Sapporo was ninth place over 5 km classic. At the Rollerski World Championships 2017 in Sollefteå , she came in 15th place in the sprint and over 18 km freestyle. At the end of January 2018, she achieved 50th place over 10 km classic and 46th place in sprint at the U23 World Ski Championships in Goms . At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she ran 82nd place in the 10 km freestyle.

Her brother Mark is also active in cross-country skiing.
