Karen Harding (* 1991 in Consett ) is an English pop and R&B singer from Newcastle .

biography

Karen Harding made her first two attempts to get into the music business at casting shows . At the age of 19 she took part in the British preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 . She joined The X Factor three years later . Both times, however, the end came early. However, the producer MNEK found her on the Internet , especially her cover version of Disclosure's Latch , and invited her to a recording session. Among other things, the jointly written song Say Something was created . So she managed to get a record deal with Method Records , the label that Disclosure was also under contract. The song was released in early 2015 and immediately helped Harding achieve a top ten hit in her home country, for which she also received a gold record for 400,000 units sold.

After that there was no further single release. She worked on material for an album, made numerous appearances, especially at summer festivals, and accompanied Sigma on tour. Only as a singer for the producer duo Blonde on the single Feel Good (It's Alright) did she draw attention to herself again in the charts in late summer. Her second own single, Open My Eyes , was announced for January 2016.
