Sigma is a British DJ - and producer - duo in the field of drum and bass .

Band history

Cameron Edwards and Joe Lenzie joined while studying at the University of Leeds to Sigma together. Originally, fellow student Ben Mauerhoff was one of them. In 2006 they went to London and began with their first single releases on labels such as Charge and Bingo Beats . As a duo, they founded their own label called Life Recordings in 2009 , where they released a remix of an earlier recording called El Presidente VIP . This enabled them to break into the scene and to receive the Newcomer Award at the Drum & Bass Arena Awards . The following year they were involved with a remix of the single for Skepta 's biggest hit Rescue Me . They also released their first two EPs on the Breakbeat Kaos label, called Stand Up Tall Part 1 and Part 2 . Together with one of the label owners, DJ Fresh , they also recorded the song Lassitude for his album Kryptonite . It was also released as a single and barely missed the top 75 on the UK charts .

In the following two years, further EP releases and international appearances followed, which further increased their popularity. In 2013 they released their first single, Summer Calling, on the 3beat label . They had a hit in various genre charts and six-digit access numbers on the YouTube channels UKF and Liquicity . At the end of the year the piece Rudeboy was released together with the London grime musician Doctor . This was the first time they were placed in the official British charts. They also contributed early 2014 a Remix to number one hit My Love of Route 94 at.

In early April of the same year, they released their next single Nobody to Love . It went straight to number one on the UK charts. The piece was originally a bootleg remix of Bound 2 by Kanye West , with Charlie Wilson singing the refrain Nobody to Love . After the success with the British radio stations, Sigma re-recorded the song in its own version and released it as a single.
