Karin Berger (politician)

Karin Berger (born July 14, 1963 in Antwerp , Belgium ) is an Austrian politician of the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ). She has been a member of the Salzburg state parliament since June 2018 .

Life

Karin Berger attended the 1st grade ( Lagere school ) according to the Belgian school system in Antwerp- Borgerhout from 1970 to 1976 and the 2nd grade (Gymnasium) in Antwerp from 1976 to 1981. She has been a hotel employee in Lofer in Salzburg since 1981, and has been an Austrian citizen since 1983 .

She has been a member of the municipal council in Lofer since 2009, where she has been deputy mayor since the municipal council and mayoral elections in Salzburg in 2014 . Since 2010 she has been the regional chairwoman of the Initiative for Freedom Women (IFF) in Salzburg, since 2013 she has also been the regional chairwoman of the Freedom Family Association in Salzburg and the regional party chairwoman of the FPÖ Salzburg. In the European elections in Austria in 2014 , she ran for the FPÖ in seventh place on the federal list. In 2016 she became district party leader of the FPÖ in Pinzgau . On 13 June 2018 she was in the inaugural parliament session of the 16th legislative term as a Member of the Salzburg Parliament sworn in .
