Karin Sulimma (born December 20, 1962 in Klagenfurt ; † July 17, 2011 in Vienna ) was an Austrian artist in the field of installations, object art and sculpture . She lived and worked in Vienna.

life and work

Karin Sulimma first completed an apprenticeship as a ceramist, which she completed in 1982 with the final apprenticeship examination. From 1987 to 1992 she studied sculpture with Bruno Gironcoli at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . From 1997 to 1999, together with the saxophonist and composer Ludwig Bekic, she directed the project “To the City of Paris”, a platform for various forms of expression in the visual and performing arts for “collective communication”. Together with Mounty RP Zentara she ran the AREA53 gallery in Vienna and since 2003 she has also formed the artist group “Two people one work”. Sulimma was buried at the Hernalser Friedhof in Vienna.
