Karin Yeşilada
Karin Yeşilada (* 1965 in Hanau ) is a German Germanist , literary critic and presenter.
Born in Germany as the daughter of a German and a Turk, she studied German, English , pedagogy and Italian in Marburg , London and Munich. Her literary dissertation Poetry of the Third Language - German-Turkish Migration Literature of the Second Generation was published in 2012 by Stauffenburg Verlag in Tübingen . Yeşilada is a full-time lecturer for intercultural literary studies and taught a. a. at the universities in Marburg, Istanbul, Cologne, Munich, Paderborn and Bochum. She is considered a long-standing expert in Turkish-German literature with numerous specialist articles in German and English. Together with the English German scholar Tom Cheesman , she edited the first author volumes on Zafer Senocak (2003) and Feridun Zaimoglu (2012). She wrote a number of entries on Turkish-German authors such as B. Zafer Senocak, Feridun Zaimoglu or Kemal Kurt for leading encyclopedias on contemporary literature (including Kindler's literary lexicon , Killy literary lexicon , critical lexicon for contemporary German-language literature, KLG ) and several specialist articles on Turkish-German cinema. She is currently working at the Ruhr University in Bochum .
In the past she was lecturer for the German Academic Exchange Service at Marmara University in Istanbul (1995–2000), editor at Babel Verlag Bülent Tulay in Munich (2001–2002), and freelance literary critic at Radio Funkhaus Europa des Westdeutscher Rundfunk (2005–2008) ). In addition to her academic work, Yeşilada is also a journalist. In the 1990s, for example, she wrote interviews with authors and columns for national print media such as Süddeutsche Zeitung , Tagesspiegel or taz / intertaz, and continues to write reviews on fiction. She also publishes regularly for online portals such as B. Dossiers from the Heinrich Böll Foundation and migrazine . She has been writing theater reviews for nachtkritik.de since 2015. Karin Yeşilada also frequently appears as a multilingual event moderator at readings and literature festivals, such as the Essen Literaturk Festival .
